5% of the time, it works every time!

I’ve been using Configurator to set up a bunch of iPads for deployment to our team members. It usually take between 5 and 10 attempts for each iPad to correctly take a Blueprint. The software crashes or fails often (usually right at the end), and sometimes it completes ‘successfully’ only for me to find that it hasn’t applied everything.
Its a shame because it would be an excellent piece of software if it worked. Save yourself the hassle - set your devices up manually.

not sure what all these other reviewers were using as I've never had an issue using it to set up iPads that are used all across the country! Easy to use, love the blueprint functionality so I can easily apply different configurations to all the different setups we have - can't fault it! the only annoyance is that you have to wipe the device to supervise it but that's more iOS rather than Apple Configurator!

Awful, awful, awful

One of the worst pieces of software I’ve ever had the misfortune to use, and made by Apple themselves…!
So incredibly buggy that you’ll spend hours trying to get it to do basic things that it claims it can do and then end up with a load of near-useless devices.
I currently have a deskful of new iPads that don’t have the apps on they need, despite installing them via Apple Configurator. AC sees them, even the app store sees them as installed so I can’t even manually install them. I just can’t actually use them. At all.
That is one example of many. Almost every ‘feature’ works like this.
If you have less than 100 devices then save yourself the time and just do everything manually, one at a time. Staggeringly, it’ll be easier, quicker and much more reliable. It’ll take you days, but so will this app and at least you’ll eventually get somewhere while keeping more of your sanity. More than 100? God help you.
